Just This One Time

Just This One Time

it screams my name
in the middle of the night
toss and turn
toss and turn
i awake with bags
and a hunger
i resist
trying to occupy my mind
thoughts
no no no no no
I tell myself
no no no no no
i tremble, afraid
the sounds are stronger
i resist
sweating
voices
just this one time
just this one time
he whispers
sniff sniff sniff
just this one time
the noise stops
the agony begins
i am caught
he whispers
just this one time
sniff

This is a piece of glitch art I created of an original photograph of Maxim.  I photographed Maxim in Montreal a while back.  It was a dream shoot and at 2:30 this morning I realized  his piece I created was perfect for the poem.

Glitch art isn’t a new medium but it is one that is being adulterated with apps for phones.  I actually spent hours creating this final piece.  The process involves taking a photograph and using either a music editing software and a code writing software to destroy the original pixels.  It is a ton of trial and error and never going back to what you discard.  It is always moving forward.  Hoping after hours and hours and days of destroying pixels you will at last be pleased with a final piece.

I tossed and turned all night as I thought about addiction.  I awoke at 2:30 this morning and started writing.  These words are my final thoughts at 6:00 am.
