NOISE

NOISE

keeping me at a
distance,
bending me to
his will,
keeps my thoughts
in a
whisper,
branches snapping
screaming at me,
find a slit in
the night,
dissolving through the
screen,
alert,
a whistle
iron on iron,
escaping,
to the safety of my
own noise
