Canine Treats – Sweet Potato Chips

My Matty loves loves loves sweet potatoes. I have been boiling some up, mashing and adding to his dry food in the morning. I did notice he got a wee bit tired of the treat so I backed off. I have since found a treat that he adores, “Baked Sweet Potato Chips”. Very easy to make and can be broken up into small pieces and used for training purposes or just a general overall treat. Your canine member of the family will love these delicious morsels. I love them too!!!

Ingredients:
2 large sweet potatoes
Coconut Oil

Directions:
1. Slice up your sweet potatoes into 1/4 inch slices.
2. Use a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lay the slices down.
3. Spray with the coconut oil or pour some coconut oil into a bowl and toss the sweet potatoes around in the oil (I tossed them around since I don’t bother buying the spray).
4. Bake in a 300 degree oven for 1 hour. You can flip half way through. I baked mine for 2 hours as mine were on the generous side of 1/4 inch thickness. Plus I wanted them to be crispy.
