Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water

Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water is a traditional Hawaiian condiment. It is made with Hawaiian chili peppers, rock salt, vinegar and more! I like to use it as a hot sauce as adds a ton of flavor to whatever I toss it on. I typically use it on salads, cooked greens such as: mustard, turnip, swiss chard, spinach, beet, and kale. This most likely is a recipe you have never heard of, but once you’ve tried it, you will not know how you ever lived without it!!! It is truly a unique condiment. I use a variety of hot peppers since Hawaiian Chili Peppers are not available to me locally. I find them similar to cayenne and tabasco peppers.

Ingredients:
8 ounces water
2 ounces white vinegar
1 teaspoon rock sea salt
Hot peppers
2 cloves garlic, whole

Directions:
1) Put all the ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce and simmer for 5 minutes.
2) Pour into a sterilized bottle.
3) Store in the refrigerator. It will last for a year or so.

*NOTE: I used habanero peppers, cayenne peppers, and tabasco peppers (as seen in the photo). I also added a piece of ginger. How many peppers you use, depends on your heat level. I just use my Hawaiian Chili Pepper water as an accent heat to my salads and greens. I don’t like them overly spicy. Thus, I only use a few peppers.
