Sweet Chili Sauce

This homemade Sweet Chili Sauce is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. It goes great with potato skins, chicken wings, fried food, topping for hot dogs and burgers, shrimp, noodle dishes, egg rolls, spring rolls, or as a dipping sauce for your favorite fried foods. It is very easy to make! This recipe is the ideal mix of sweet and spicy, perfectly balanced to please your spicy food loving taste buds. It is my twist on a Thai classic!! It is a mix of crushed red pepper, brown sugar, maple syrup, with vinegar and other ingredients. It is addicting to the core!!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup lite brown sugar
1/4 cup Maple Syrup
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1/2 cup water
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons red pepper flakes or chili flakes of your choice
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon lite soy sauce or Tamari (gluten free)
1 tablespoon toasted white sesame seeds
2 teaspoons corn starch/corn flour and enough water to make a slurry

Directions:
Place all ingredients minus the cornstarch in a pot or large sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally. Once this comes to a boil, add the cornstarch slurry and stir until you come to your desired thickness. About 1-2 minutes. Turn heat to low and let it simmer a couple of minutes. Transfer to an 8.5 ounce bottle (or larger).

I usually am making a huge batch and I quadruple the recipe and I get about 8 bottles. I use the 8.5 ounce bottles with the rubber stopper. These are easy to get online. You can also use pint canning jars. Twist this recipe up however you see fit to satisfy your own tastes. It is a fantastic condiment for most foods and I always have a bottle in my pantry.
