Chasing The Dragon

Chasing The Dragon

In the depths of night’s velvet shroud,
Where whispers of longing are allowed,
They chase the dragon’s elusive flight,
Seeking a high that feels just right.

Subtle tendrils of smoke unfurl,
A dance of dreams in a hidden world,
Their hearts beat faster, pulses race,
Lost in the dragon’s sweet embrace.

But in the shadows, danger lurks,
A cruel price for the high it works,
For chasing the dragon, the toll is steep,
A restless journey, a secret to keep.

In the end, it’s a hollow chase,
A fleeting thrill in a hidden place,
Better to seek joys in the light of day,
Than in the dragon’s elusive display.
