In the Silence of Colorado Skies

In the Silence of Colorado Skies

in the heart of Colorado, where mountains touch the blue,
lived a soul named karlotta, we fondly called kk too.
a spirit young and vibrant, a whisper in the wind,
her laughter was a melody, in a world often dimmed.

we met in lands of solitude, far from maine’s embrace,
where families are not chosen, in life’s vast open space.
her family and friends, warm and welcoming, in a land so grand and wide,
became my kin when mine were so far away, a joy I could not hide.

our gatherings, a satisfying feast of tales and endless mirth,
cookouts under bright warm skies, a paradise on earth.
kk, the quiet artist, painting smiles in our minds,
her words, though seldom spoken, were the most profound finds.

nephews, the sparkles in her sky, her love for them so deep,
in their laughter and their words, her joy she’d quietly keep.
a bond formed in quiet hugs, a connection so sincere,
in a moment’s notice, she would find laughter’s frontier.

a heart that echoed kindness, a soul so pure and rare,
in echoes of my mind, she is forever there.
her presence, a gentle reminder of the gentle love that we shared,
in the quiet moments, her absence is declared.

time moved on, and so did i, back to maine’s rocky shore,
yet kk, true and steadfast, kept our friendship at its core.
her words, a balm in solitude, a bridge over miles long,
in her messages, i found solace, a place where i belong.

now she is a whisper in the wind, a memory in the stars
her laughter resonates in waves, beyond life’s transient bars.
dear karlotta, kk, in my heart, you will forever be,
a symbol of love and friendship, in the purest, highest degree.

gone too soon, yet never forgotten, in my heart, you will always stay,
in every laugh, in every story, in each and every day.
your spirit, a beacon of love, in the silence of colorado skies,
in our memories, you dance forever, where the mountains meet the highs.
