In The Heart of the Dragonfly
In the quiet garden of life,
where laughter blooms and tears fall,
a family, woven tight with love’s thread,
stands, united in the face of time’s cruel jest
A mother, my dear friend,
with hands weathered from holding hope,
eyes deep as ocean storms, yet calm,
whispering strength in every glance.
A father, steady as ancient oaks,
carries laughter in his voice,
a shield against the storm,
his love, a fortress for their hearts.
And then, their daughter,
eldest of three, a spirit bright,
her laughter, a melody in their symphony,
now whispers, faint as a dragonfly’s flutter.
She sees herself in these iridescent wings,
fragile, yet daring to dance in sunlight,
defying the winds, bold in her flight,
a reflection of her journey, brave and bright.
In their garden of shared memories,
they’ve celebrated life’s tapestry,
rich with colors of joy and trials,
a portrait of love, unyielding, unspoiled.
Now, as twilight weaves its somber hue,
they gather, hearts entwined,
watching dragonflies skim the twilight air,
each beat, a reminder of moments shared.
The daughter, with eyes gleaming,
finds peace in these delicate creatures,
symbols of resilience, fleeting yet free,
mirrors of her own fierce battle, her grace.
In this sacred space, time holds its breath,
as they embrace each moment left,
their love, a beacon in fading light,
illuminating paths through darkest night.
This family, in their unspoken bond,
teaches us the depths of love’s pond,
where even in the face of life’s cruellest part,
they find strength, together, heart to heart.
And I, a witness to their journey, stand,
my heart heavy with empathy and admiration,
for in their unity, in their unyielding love,
they are each other’s dragonflies, soaring above.
